| Situated in the Shan State, between Mandalay and Lashio is now opened to tourists. Hsipaw is a very interesting little town, where you can find both, a very well preserved Shan Palace as well as a couple of much reverred pagodas. However, the main interest is represented by the villages Palaung of Pan Kham, Ohn Mu and Mun Lwe in the mountains nearby, these can only be reached by off-road vehicles or after a long walk, where one finds them to be completely untouched by the world at large. |
