8-day ceremony ending Feb 24 3rd Waxing day-the nat is coaxed to ascend the throne. 4th Waxing day-nat figures are cleansed with water and regilded. 5th Waxing day-drum-thumping for the nat and cock-fighting. 6th to 9th Waxing days-designated for pacifying the nat. 10th Waxing day-cock-fighting under the banyan tree. Re-enactment of ancient legends.

Location: Mow-Nyin, Kachin State
8-day festival ending Mar1 The ceremony is sponsored by Kachin Buddhists, In Summer, a footpath leading to the pagoda surfaces enabling pilgrims to walk to the pagoda. Usually the pagoda is surrounded by a large volume of water.

8-day festival ending Mar 2 First taken to Mumbai, India, by colonialists but later regained. Famous as returnee pagoda. Robe-weaving contest,and alms-bowl offering are major highlights.

Location: West Pha-yon-ga Island, Rakhine State
5-day festival ending Mar 1 The pagoda is dedicated to a much noted Rakhine queen, Saw Mae-kyi. According to legend, no repersentation of tigers or wild orchids can be taken into the pagoda precinct.
