| Founded in 573 AD, Bago is an ancient town just 80km form Yangon, which makes it a popular day's round trip from Yangon. It also is home to numerous Pagodas, among which is the famous statue of the reclining Buddha that is 55m long, and covered with mystical inscriptions and symbols that reflect the secrets only to those few who have acquired and accumulated an understanding of the same. Sightseeing also includes cheroot-making and wood-carving centers. |
